Ten citizens will stand trial for serving in Russian units against Ukraine

The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office has completed a pre-trial investigation into ten people accused of collaborating with the Russian occupation forces and participating in hostilities against Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office, Censor.NET reports.
Indictments on articles on high treason and collaboration have already been sent to court.
The four defendants, residents of the Luhansk region, served in the illegal armed groups of the so-called Luhansk People's Republic from 2015 to 2022. They held positions as snipers, riflemen, mechanics and gunners-operators, guarded ammunition depots and participated in assaults on Ukrainian positions, in particular in the Bakhmut direction.
Six other "volunteers" joined the occupation forces after 2022. Three of them signed contracts while serving their sentences in prisons in the occupied territory. The defendants worked at checkpoints, built defensive structures and participated in battles to hold the occupied territories.
The Ukrainian military detained these individuals in August-November 2024 during assault operations near Verkhnekamianske, Bilohorivka and Ivanivske in the Bakhmut district. All suspects are currently in custody.
Under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, indictments against 10 citizens on the facts of high treason and collaboration (Art. 111, parts 1, 2, part 7, Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) were submitted to the court.
