US to announce $500 million in aid to Ukraine at Ramstein - AP

The next $500 million aid package for Ukraine will be announced at the Ramstein meeting on 9 January.
This is reported by the Associated Press, Censor.NET reports.
Citing unnamed US officials, the newspaper notes that the US intends to provide Ukraine with an additional $500 million in arms, which will be quickly drawn from existing stocks as the Biden administration works to strengthen Kyiv's negotiating position before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.
The announcement is expected to be made during Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin's latest trip to meet with the Ukraine Defence Contact Group.
The AP adds that Thursday's meeting is the 25th and possibly the last meeting of the group under US leadership, as member states await whether it will continue under Trump.
"We will focus on maintaining momentum, delivering results and sending clear signals: The international community is committed to supporting Ukraine," Austin told journalists accompanying him on the trip.
