Average price of shells in defence contracts decreased by 15-23% - Bezrukova

The average price of shell contracts concluded by the Defence Procurement Agency has decreased, saving billions of hryvnias.
This was reported in an article by the head of the Defence Procurement Agency Maryna Bezrukova, Censor.NET informs.
She noted that in 2024, the Agency managed to significantly reduce or at least maintain average prices for critical ammunition.
"For example, compared to 2023, the average price in the contracts concluded by the Agency in 2024 decreased by 15% for 155-mm calibre shells, 23% for 152-mm calibre shells, and 16% for 125-mm calibre shells. This saved billions of hryvnias, which were used to purchase additional weapons for the Armed Forces," Bezrukova explained.
The price was levelled and even reduced due to a reduction in the share of intermediaries.
"While the share of special importers in the Agency's transitional contracts concluded in 2023 was 82%, in 2024 it was 12%.
The majority of this year's contracts are for Ukrainian arms production. The share of direct imports by the Agency, in particular, direct contracts with manufacturers, has also increased significantly," Bezrukova added.
