Trump team recalibrates approach to Ukraine war, support will continue - FT

US President-elect Donald Trump has pushed back his campaign pledge to end Russia's war against Ukraine in "24 hours" by several months. In Europe, this is interpreted as a sign that support for Kyiv will continue under his administration.
According to Censor.NET, the Financial Times reports this with reference to unnamed European officials.
According to them, during recent talks with Trump's team, it was revealed that they do not yet have a plan to resolve the war, but support for Ukraine will continue after his inauguration on January 20.
The entire Trump team is obsessed with appearing strong, so they are recalibrating their approach to Ukraine," said one official.
According to the official, the new administration also fears comparisons with the "calamitous withdrawal" of US troops from Afghanistan under current US President Joe Biden, which Trump's team does not want to repeat in the war in Ukraine, the FT writes.
As a reminder, Keith Kellogg, Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, said that he aims to find a solution to the full-scale war that Russia has unleashed against Ukraine within a hundred days of the new president's inauguration.
