Next "Ramstein" meeting scheduled for February - Umerov
The next meeting of the "Ramstein" Contact Group on Ukraine's Defence is scheduled for February 2025.
This was stated by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, Censor.NET reports citing Radio Liberty.
"We have already noted that we are holding the next Ramstein in February," Umerov said.
He added that Ukraine wants the United States to stay in the format and increase its presence.
"There are different formats, as you know, we have created NSATU (a format under the auspices of NATO), there are several European countries that want to lead it or co-led it, because it is done together with Ukraine. So I don't see any problems at the moment, because we have already agreed on the next 'Ramstein'," the minister explained.
As a reminder, US Secretary of Defence Lloyd J. Austin dodged the question of the future of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group ("Ramstein" format) after the arrival of the Donald Trump administration.
