"Belgorod People’s Republic" declared terrorist organization in Russia
Russia recognized the Belgorod People's Republic as a terrorist organization. The list also includes the Kursk People's Republic.
According to Censor.NET, a corresponding entry appeared on the website of the Russian Federal Security Service in the Unified Federal List of Organizations, including foreign and international organizations recognized as terrorist organizations under Russian law.
"The BPR was included in the register of terrorist organizations as part of the Forum of Free States of Post-Russia at the end of December 2024.
In addition to the Belgorod Land, the list includes more than 140 subdivisions. It also mentions the "Kursk People's Republic".
The "Belgorod People's Republic" is an internet meme that originated in Ukrainian social media. It mocks the "accession" of the Belgorod region of Russia to Ukraine. The abbreviation was created by analogy with the so-called "LPR" and "DPR".
