Zelenskyy discusses arms production and investments to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities with Tusk

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk the production and supply of weapons to strengthen Ukraine's defense, as well as the possibility of investing in the development of domestic production.
This was announced at a press conference during the head of state's visit to Warsaw, Censor.NET reports.
At the press conference, Zelenskyy said that one of the main topics of discussion was the defense of Ukraine: "Today we talked with the Prime Minister about our defense, about the supply of weapons, and about the production of weapons. We talked about this in detail for a very long time, we have significant capabilities to produce all kinds of drones, many types of equipment that are needed in battles. Also artillery, all this can strengthen not only our people," he said.
Zelenskyy also emphasized the importance of growing domestic production in Ukraine, which will contribute to the technological strengthening of the country's armed forces.
The parties also discussed the peace process for Ukraine and Europe as a whole. Zelenskyy said that Ukraine expects active cooperation with the new US administration: "In five days, President Trump will be inaugurated in the United States of America. We expect to work actively together in the spirit of the concept of peace through strength."
They also discussed the preparation of the 16th package of EU sanctions against Russia and further work on Ukraine's accession to the EU. "We must now be as effective as possible in opening negotiation clusters and have agreed positions. We can open at least several clusters," Zelenskyy emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, the President of Ukraine thanked Poland for offering to host a conference on Ukraine's recovery in 2026. "Ukraine accepts this invitation, and it is very important for us that Poland will be one of our key partners in the restoration of Ukraine," Zelenskyy concluded.
