The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed companies in Kharkiv, Chernivtsi and Odesa regions that were supplying electronic components for the production of missiles and drones to Russia in circumvention of international sanctions.
This was reported by the press service of the SSU, Censor.NET reports.
These are companies that are part of an international corporation based in Russia. It produces unique microchips and electronic boards used in the navigation systems of X-101, Kalibr and Iskander-K missiles, as well as in kamikaze drones, Tornado-G MLRS and Ka-52 helicopters.
According to the SSU, the offenders developed a plan to systematically supply electronic components to Russia. The products were purchased in Ukraine and abroad, sent to a company in the Middle East that is under sanctions, and from there - to Russian military-industrial enterprises, in particular JSC SpetsTechnMash.
Reportedly, in the summer of 2022, more than 1,500 microelectronics items worth more than $600,000 were smuggled to Russia through the scheme. The use of Ukrainian microchips has been confirmed by the examination of the wreckage of Russian missiles and drones.
During the searches, material evidence was found, including on the person of one of the detained suspects, who has a Russian passport. He was served a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding the aggressor state). The suspect faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Other participants in the scheme are being served with a notice of suspicion under the same article.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.
