Ukraine will demand accountability for war criminals - Lubinets on execution of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers

shooting of Ukrainian Army soldier

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets will send information to the UN and the ICRC about the shooting of at least six captured Ukrainian soldiers.

This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, Censor.NET reports.

Another video of the alleged cynical shooting of unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war by the Russian military is circulating online.

According to Lubinets, the occupiers recorded their own crime in the video - shooting six Ukrainian soldiers who were captured in the back. The video ends when the seventh soldier lies on the ground, his fate unknown. The execution of each of the captured soldiers takes place in front of their fellow soldiers. At the same time, the occupiers order them to "lie down and close their mouths," and the 'operator' of the crime says "One is mine," and later he is seen firing a series of bullets into the back of one of the prisoners of war."

"The Russian army has never been known for its decent treatment of prisoners of war and is once again demonstrating its helplessness and criminality," Lubinets said.

"I am once again sending information about this crime to the UN and the ICRC. This fact must be recorded!

Lack of accountability has turned the crime into a system. We cannot turn a blind eye to this! Ukraine needs justice and accountability for those who commit crimes and do not comply with any norms!" the ombudsman wrote.

Earlier it was reported that the occupiers shot at least six captured soldiers after seizing a Ukrainian position.
