IAEA Director General Grossi to visit Ukraine next week
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi will arrive in Ukraine next week for a high-level meeting in Kyiv due to the "unstable and fragile" situation in the country.
This is stated on the IAEA website, Censor.NET reports.
It is known that the visit will take place on February 4.
"While this horrific war continues, the IAEA will remain present and active, focusing on doing everything possible to maintain nuclear safety in extremely difficult circumstances. As the overall situation is still fragile and volatile, our work there remains essential," Grossi said.
It is noted that during his visit, the IAEA's ongoing efforts to prevent a nuclear accident in time of war will be discussed.
"This will be the 11th mission to Ukraine under the personal leadership of the Director General since the beginning of the war almost three years ago, which demonstrates the IAEA's unwavering commitment to assisting Ukraine in ensuring nuclear safety," the Agency added.
Earlier it was reported that IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi plans to visit Ukraine and Russia in the coming weeks.
