Finland will provide Ukraine with a military assistance package worth almost 200 million euros - country’s Ministry of Defense

Finland

Finland has decided to provide the 27th package of military assistance to Ukraine worth about 200 million euros.

This is reported in a press release from the Finnish Ministry of Defense, Censor.NET reports.

As noted, this decision was made on January 31, 2025, on the basis of a government proposal, which was voted for by the President of Finland. The total cost of defense equipment that Finland has already supplied to Ukraine has reached 2.5 billion euros.

"This package worth almost 200 million euros was formed in close cooperation with the Ukrainians. We are providing exactly the kind of support that will help Ukraine defend itself in the acute situation at the front. We cannot loosen our grip, on the contrary, it is at this moment that support should be further strengthened. I have discussed this with my Northern European colleagues this week, and everyone is on the same page. Armed assistance supports the right of independent nations to exist and protects human lives in Ukraine," said Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkinen.

The Minister also emphasized that for operational reasons, the Ministry of Defense does not disclose details about the specific content of the package, the method of delivery or the schedule of assistance.

In his speech, the Minister of Defense also emphasized the importance of ensuring Ukraine's independence and defense capability. "It depends on us, Europeans, how security in Europe will develop. Ensuring Ukraine's independence and defense capability is the most important element in this process now," he added.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine would receive €2 million from Finland for a project to assess environmental damage due to full-scale Russian aggression.
