Ukraine and Russia will have to make concessions to end war, - Kellogg

US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said that both sides will have to make territorial concessions if they hope to agree on a settlement to the war.
He said this in an interview with Fox News, as quoted by the European bureau of Radio Liberty, Censor.NET reports.
"President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already made it clear that he will soften his position on the territories. And Putin is going to have to soften his position as well. We're going to have discussions with everybody over time, and probably in the near future. And that's good for both sides," Kellogg said.
Earlier, the special envoy said that Washington wants Ukraine to hold elections, possibly by the end of this year, especially if a ceasefire is reached.
On February 2, Volodymyr Zelenskyy's advisor Dmytro Lytvyn said that the Ukrainian side "has not yet seen Kellogg's full interview, only a few quotes about the elections, so it is difficult to fully assess his position."
"But if his plan is only a ceasefire and elections, then this is a failed plan - Putin cannot be intimidated by these two things alone," he told Reuters.
