Trump invited me to his inauguration. It wouldn’t be very appropriate for me to go – Zelenskyy

US President Donald Trump invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to his inauguration in January 2025.
The head of state said this in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Censor.NET reports.
"President Trump invited me to his inauguration, but he invited me in very general terms, like perhaps other leaders, I don't know who he invited personally or otherwise," Zelenskyy said.
He said that his visit to Trump's inauguration would have been inappropriate, as the US president would not have had time for a personal meeting to discuss ending the war.
"I think we need time to sit down and talk about how to end the war, and we need time to do that. And at this moment, at the moment of the inauguration, I think he (Trump - ed.) has his own agenda. The inauguration is probably one of the most important days in the life of the American people. And I think it would not be very appropriate for me to come. He would not have time for a personal meeting," Zelenskyy added.
