Ukraine and EU expand cooperation in humanitarian aid

Representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine discussed cooperation in the field of humanitarian aid in Brussels.

Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchuk took part in the 5th meeting of the EU Senior Officials (SOM) in Brussels, where they discussed
- Combining humanitarian assistance with Ukraine's recovery
- Financing humanitarian needs for 2025
- Coordination of EU support
It is noted that at a separate meeting with DG ECHO Director General Maciej Popowski, they agreed to expand cooperation, in particular in the field of civilian security.
"The State Emergency Service of Ukraine continues to coordinate international assistance for the safety of Ukrainians," the agency emphasized.
As a reminder, the European Union has provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine totaling more than €3.6 billion since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion and continues to provide such assistance using the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
