Lukashenko to build fence on border with Ukraine
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko claimed the need to strengthen the border with Ukraine.
As reported by Censor.NET citing TASS, he said this during his trip to Zhlobin (Gomel region). He pointed to existing problems that supposedly come from Ukraine, with which the Belarusian authorities have to deal by building up border security.
"I say nothing of drugs... They bring weapons, machine guns, ammunition, and come here themselves. We will strengthen the border. We have completely shut it down, and now we will erect engineering constructions not to let a mouse through. We will ensure the security of our country," he said.
He also promised to deal with those Belarusian citizens who are fighting in Ukraine, mentioning Mikhail Zhiznevsky - Belarusian citizen, Heavenly Hundred hero.
"Those fighting will be dealt with when they come back to the country. I have warned everyone and there is a decision taken at the legislative level: if you went to war - no matter in support of the Donbas or against it - you will be held accountable. These people are few, may be two dozens. One of them had some fighting on Maidan and returned in coffin," Lukashenko said.
