European countries will not create single army - Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski

On Saturday, February 15, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski rejected the idea of creating a single military formation in Europe.
According to Censor.NET, this was reported by Reuters.
Commenting on President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy's call for the creation of a European army, Sikorsky said: "We have to be careful with this term because people understand different things by it."
"If you understand it as the unification of national armies, then this will not happen," he explained. - "But I was an advocate of Europe, the European Union, developing its own defense capabilities.
The Minister also noted that the EU has already begun to form a reinforced brigade.
"If the United States wants us to strengthen our defense, which should have a national component and a NATO component, but I also want to emphasize that the European component, EU investments in the defense industry, and building up our production capacity also play a big role," Sikorski said.
He reiterated that the presence of Polish troops in Ukraine "is not being considered because Poland's duty to NATO is to protect its eastern flank, i.e., its own territory."
