Putin wants to end fighting. If he continues, it will be "big problem for us" - Trump
US President Donald Trump has suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to end the war against Ukraine.

"I think he wants to stop fighting. I see that. We spoke long and hard. Steve Witkoff was with him for a very extended period, like about three hours. I think he wants to stop fighting," Trump noted.
At the same time, the US president stressed that Russia has a ‘big, powerful military machine’ and highlighted its historic victories over Hitler and Napoleon.
Trump was also asked whether Putin had ambitions beyond Ukraine. He said he had discussed this issue directly with Putin:
"I think he wants to stop. That was my question to him. Because if he’s going to go on, that would have been a big problem for us, and that would have caused me a big problem, because you just can’t let that happen."
In addition, Trump noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ‘wants to end it too’.
