General Staff changes brigadiers in three brigades fighting in Kurakhove direction - media

The 33rd Separate Mechanised Brigade, 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade and 35th Marine Brigade, which are fighting in the Kurakhove direction, have changed their brigadiers.

This was reported by Suspilne with reference to sources among the military of these brigades and the General Staff, Censor.NET reports.

33rd Separate Mechanised Brigade

Thus, Colonel Dmytro Palisa became the commander of the 33rd Brigade. He has not yet commented on his appointment.

Previously, Palisa served as deputy commander of the 30th Battalion of the Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi Mechanised Brigade. He was one of the youngest combatants in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He took part in the battles for Lyman in Donetsk region, as well as in the counter-offensive in Kharkiv region as part of the fourth special forces detachment of the 71st separate airborne ranger brigade.

Colonel Dmytro Palisa is the brother of Pavlo Palisa, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office. In 2023-2024, he was the head of the 93rd Kholodny Yar Brigade.

He replaced Colonel Yurii Hupaliuk, who led the 33rd Brigade in 2024. Since 2014, he has taken part in combat operations in Donetsk region, including the battles for Sloviansk, Debaltseve and others. He was wounded during the battle for Avdiivka in 2015.

46th SAB

Lieutenant Colonel Dmytro Kapitula became the commander of the 46th separate airborne brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Prior to that, Kapitula was the commander of one of the battalions of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At present, Dmytro Kapitula is also not commenting on his appointment, the brigade's press service told Suspilne.

He replaced Vitalii Zolotarev, who was dismissed at the end of January 2024.

35th Marine Brigade

Colonel Oleksii Bulakhov heads the 35th Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi.

Suspilne reminds us that Bulakhov is one of the defenders of Mariupol. He was released from captivity in September 2022.
