Zelenskyy on massive attack on Odesa: Russian troops attacked energy sector in freezing weather. Russian representatives lied at meeting in Riyadh. VIDEO
Rescue operations are currently underway in Odesa after another Russian attack on the energy infrastructure.
This was announced in the telegram channel of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Censor.NET reports.
"It is the civilian energy facilities against which the Russian army has not spared either missiles nor attack drones for almost three years.
Just yesterday, after the infamous meeting in Riyadh, it became known that Russian representatives had once again lied about not striking the energy sector. Almost at the same time, there was such a strike attack drones against electric transformers. And this was in winter, it was minus 6 degrees Celsius at night," the Head of State emphasized.
According to him, at least 160,000 Odesa residents are currently without heat and electricity. There are 13 schools, a kindergarten, and several hospitals without heating and electricity. Repair crews are working, all utilities are involved. I am grateful to every rescuer and everyone who is helping people.
"We must remember that Russia is ruled by pathological liars, and they cannot be trusted - we must put pressure on them for the sake of peace," the head of state concluded.
Earlier, Censor.NET reported that the Russians had struck a massive blow in Odesa: there is no electricity, water, or heat supply in part of the city, and hospitals, clinics, and social infrastructure facilities are without heat. In the morning, it became known that 14 schools, 13 kindergartens, and more than 500 houses were without heating.
As a reminder, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov assured that Russia did not intend to "harm Ukraine's energy system" and was not attacking civilian objects in Ukraine.
