US helped Putin break out of years of isolation. Russia was treated as victim - Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that by holding talks with Russia in Saudi Arabia, the United States helped Vladimir Putin break out of his years of isolation.
He said this during a press conference, Censor.NET reports.
"The fact that they are discussing their bilateral issues in Saudi Arabia, as I said, is their right. Although I believe that the United States helped Putin break out of years of isolation. No one is annoyed, we are ready for anything. As for the story that 90% of all aid comes from the US, we understand that the truth is a little different. But we are certainly grateful for the help. That's why I would like to see more truth from the Trump team, because all of this definitely does not have a positive impact on Ukraine," he stressed.
"They are bringing Putin out of isolation. I think Putin and the Russians are very happy. Because they are discussing issues with them as a victim. This is something new. I don't want to criticise US officials, but it seems to me that the global South has been saying that ‘this is a conflict’. And we had no complaints because we have always fought to keep the global South in the middle. And they were all in the middle, because they understood that this is simply Putin's war against us," the head of state added.
