Europe must convince US that Ukraine cannot lose war – Stubb

Finnish President Alexander Stubb believes that the most important task for Europe now is to convince the United States that Ukraine cannot lose the war with Russia.
He said this at a press conference, Censor.NET reports citing Yle.
In his opinion, the biggest danger today is that both the United States and Russia are negotiating without Ukraine and the European Union.
He emphasized that it is important to provide Ukraine with the necessary support and put the necessary pressure on Russia.
"We must convince the United States that Ukraine cannot afford to lose this war," said the President of Finland.
According to Stubb, the future of Ukraine is a matter of fate not only for Ukraine, European security and the international system, but also for the position of the United States as a great power.
The most important thing now is to act, Stubb emphasizes.
The Finnish leader added that a common vision of what Europe will do is emerging.
He also noted that an agreement has been reached that French President Emmanuel Macron will soon provide a summary and principles of action. Macron will also continue negotiations with U.S. President Donald Trump.
"We have also agreed that the leaders of European institutions will announce in the coming days how European defense will be strengthened," Stubb summarized.
