The Verkhovna Rada did not support Resolution No 13039 on supporting democracy in Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, Censor.NET reports.
"The Parliament of Ukraine emphasises the need to comply with the principle of institutional continuity of power provided for by the laws of Ukraine, especially in the context of the legal regime of martial law, and stresses that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy must fulfil his powers until the newly elected President of Ukraine takes office in accordance with part one of Article 108 of the Constitution of Ukraine," the MP quoted the resolution as saying.
The decision was supported by 218 parliamentarians.
MP Honcharenko said that European Commissioners, the Council of Churches, and representatives of many European countries were present at the meeting.
