Lipavsky: Start of US-Russia talks does not mean anything will change

The fact that the United States has started negotiations with Russia does not mean that anything can change.
According to Censor.NET, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said this in an interview with Novinky.
He emphasized that Europe should do more for its security, not to be a passive observer.
"I think everyone agrees that the era of words is over. We must move on to action," he said.
According to him, this is also necessary in order to take on the burden of implementing decisions made by others.
"Our influence is much greater even now. The fact that Russia and the United States have opened a line of debate together does not mean that the outcome of this debate can really change anything," Lipavsky said.
"And for us, this is a signal that European countries, including the Czech Republic, will take new steps that are absolutely necessary in today's situation. And then we will no longer talk about children's tables or whether we are in front of the door or behind the door, because we are a natural part of the solution," he emphasized.
The minister said it was unacceptable that Putin threatens European security.
"It is unacceptable to me that thanks to Putin we have expensive energy or refugees from the war. And it is equally unacceptable to me that Ukraine or Europe is being dictated a new security order. We must be able to defend ourselves against this, and this will require action," he added.
