Russia attacks Ukraine’s energy system every night - Halushchenko

Russia attacks Ukraine’s energy system every night

Russian invaders attack the Ukrainian energy system every day and night. Energy facilities of various types are under fire.

This was stated by Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, Censor.NET reports with reference to Interfax-Ukraine.

"In terms of attacks on the power system, we no longer count daily attacks. That is, conditionally, every day, every night, there is an attack on the power grid today," he said.

According to the minister, the entire energy system is under attack by the Russian Federation: generation, including hydro and thermal power, electricity transmission substations, and power grids. Gas infrastructure is also one of the enemy's priority targets.

"On December 12 (2024), there was a massive attack, the largest in the history of attacks - about 300 missiles and drones simultaneously attacked the power system. In 2022, we counted a massive attack - more than 100, 120, 150 (weapons) on average. Now it is more than 200 - up to 300," Galushchenko added.

The Energy Minister also noted that the Russians have significantly increased their strikes: they have changed, become more complex, with the use of more and more modern weapons, and with the use of missiles with cluster warheads.
