ZNPP is on verge of blackout again due to Russian shelling - Ministry of Energy

De-energization of Zaporizhzhya NPP

As a result of enemy shelling, one of the two power lines of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was de-energized.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to the press center of the Ministry of Energy.

As noted, the nuclear power plant is currently connected to the Ukrainian power grid by only one power line. Power engineers will be able to start restoring power through this line as soon as the security situation allows.

"Zaporizhzhia NPP is again facing a real threat of blackout due to enemy shelling - one of the two power lines connecting the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP to the integrated power system of Ukraine has once again been disconnected. Due to the occupation of the plant by the Russians, the situation at ZNPP remains threatening, and only the return of control over the plant to Ukraine can guarantee the safe operation of Europe's largest nuclear power plant," said Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.

Earlier, Censor.NET reported that the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi visited Russia for "consultations" with the Rosatom delegation on the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
