Costa invited Zelenskyy to EU summit: they will discuss European defense and support for Ukraine

The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, has sent an official invitation to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to participate in the EU leaders' summit on March 6.
This is stated in the invitation letter to the summit participants, Censor.NET informs.
In the invitation letter, Costa noted that the summit will become a platform for making decisions that should make Europe "more sovereign, capable and ready for modern security challenges."
Regarding Ukraine, the President of the European Council emphasized that the EU intends to "take more responsibility for the security of Europe" and is ready to discuss the contribution to the security guarantees that are necessary to ensure lasting peace.
"Therefore, it is important for us to exchange views on how to continue to support Ukraine and what principles should be followed in the future. The EU and its member states are ready to take on more responsibility for Europe's security. Therefore, we must be ready for a possible European contribution to the security guarantees that will be necessary to ensure lasting peace in Ukraine," Costa said.
As noted, in this context, he invited Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Brussels for a personal discussion of the latest developments and further steps of the European Union in supporting Ukraine.
