Europe must reject ’happy vassal dependence’ on US - Macron
French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Europe must unite and abandon its vassalage to the United States.

During a visit to Portugal, the French leader called on Europeans to be "more united and stronger than ever" and to abandon "happy vassalage" to the United States at a time when negotiations on Ukraine are accelerating on both sides of the Atlantic.
Macron called on Europe to "rediscover its taste for risk, ambition and power" in the face of Donald Trump's unpredictability on both Ukraine and tariffs.
"I see many people in our Europe who say: "We have to be nice to the Americans, this will pass, we have to bend our backs," the French president emphasized.
According to Macron, "the answer is not submission." He does not advocate "happy vassalization."
The French leader believes that Europeans must be united and stronger than ever.
