EU to allocate additional 15 billion euros to Ukraine - Costa

Several EU member states have announced commitments to provide up to €15 billion in additional assistance to Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, citing European Pravda, this was stated by European Council President Antonio Costa at a press conference after the EU security summit.
He noted that EU states can immediately increase their support for Ukraine through initiatives to increase fiscal space, with new commitments already amounting to around €15 billion.
"Member States can immediately increase their support thanks to the increased fiscal space. Several Member States have already announced their commitments of up to €15 billion," said the President of the European Council.
According to him, the European Council also "instructed the EU Council to work urgently on further initiatives to meet Ukraine's urgent military and defense needs".
"At the same time, we are preparing to support Ukraine when it decides to start negotiations to help it achieve a positive outcome. This means a just and lasting peace," Costa said.
Costa believes that the best guarantors of security for Ukraine are the Ukrainians themselves.
