Ukrainian forces evacuated a 22-year-old man who was tortured by the occupiers in Kherson and then held under surveillance on the left bank of the region.
This was announced by the head of the Kherson City Military Administration Roman Mrochko, Censor.NET reports.
According to Mrochko, the young man could not leave on his own because of the constant surveillance by Russian special services. His family turned to the Ukrainian authorities for help, and after an operation was prepared, the boy was taken to the territory controlled by Ukraine.
In addition, during this operation, another woman was rescued and was able to meet her son, a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Mrochko thanked all those who contributed to the rescue, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President's Office, the global initiative UNITED 24, the Ukrainian Navy and its command, and the special forces unit "Angels", which carried out the risky operation.
