10,000 Ukrainian soldiers are under threat of encirclement in Kursk region - Telegraph

Fighting in Kursk region: what is known

Ten thousand Ukrainian soldiers are at risk of being surrounded in the Kursk region after Russia broke through the front line and began to attack a key supply line from two directions.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to The Telegraph.

A junior sergeant who spoke to The Telegraph said that Ukraine is considering withdrawing from the Kursk region to avoid further losses.

"We want to avoid losses. The fear of encirclement is real," he said.

The publication recalls that maps from the Ukrainian military blog DeepState show that approximately three-quarters of Ukrainian forces inside Russia are almost completely surrounded and almost divided into two parts.

The troops remaining near the Russian border are connected by a corridor about one kilometer long and less than 500 meters wide at its narrowest point.

The only Ukrainian road to Sudzhi is now within range of Russian drones, complicating efforts to hold the area and retreat if necessary.

Censor.NET previously reported that the enemy had advanced into Staraya Sorochyna and Novaya Sorochyna in Kursk.
