In Ukraine, 139 thousand square kilometers are potentially mined, which is 23% of the country's territory.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Censor.NET reports.

Shmyhal noted that 84 certified operators are working on demining, using 225 demining machines, some of which are made in Ukraine.

According to Shmyhal, the state has already compensated more than UAH 529 million to farmers who used the services of private operators to clear their farmland.

"The work under this program continues, we have almost 360 applications from farmers. The state budget for the current year has provided UAH 3 billion for this purpose," he said.

As noted, about fifty countries are involved in demining the territories of Ukraine, including the United States, Switzerland, the European Union, Japan, Norway, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands and Sweden.
