US intelligence chief Gabbard on Trump-Putin talks

US President Donald Trump has made significant progress in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and expects success in his talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

According to Censor.NET, citing NDTV, this was stated by the head of the US National Intelligence Agency, Tulsi Gabbard.

Thus, according to her, President Trump is focused on peace and has made unprecedented progress in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine

"The talks have just started, and he hopes for success, not for his own sake, but for the sake of peace and to stop the deaths of innocent people. We have the best negotiators working with both the Ukrainians and Russia," Gabbard said.

She emphasized that under the previous administration, there were no peace efforts or direct dialogues with dictator Putin.

"In a very short period of time, Trump has made far more progress toward peace than any other previous effort. President Trump will have a very productive conversation with Putin at the appropriate time, based on his unwavering commitment to peace," Gabbard added.

Earlier, Reuters reported that Trump plans to speak with Putin on March 18.

US special envoy Steve Witkoff also said that the conversation between the American and Russian leaders could take place this week.

In its turn, the Kremlin confirmed that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin will have a conversation on March 18.
