Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and South Korea discuss repatriation of DPRK prisoners

Foreign Ministers of South Korea and Ukraine Cho Tae-yul and Andrii Sybiha had a telephone conversation to discuss the repatriation of North Korean prisoners of war.
According to Censor.NET, citing Yonhap, this was reported by the South Korean Foreign Ministry.
"Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul discussed by phone with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha the fate of two North Korean soldiers captured by Ukraine," the statement said.
Cho noted that the captured soldiers are considered South Korean citizens under the country's constitution, but they must express their intention to leave for South Korea.
During the talks, Cho also emphasized that the South Korean government would cooperate with the international community to restore peace and rebuild Ukraine after the war.
In turn, Sybiha shared information about the high-level talks between Ukraine and the United States on efforts to end the war and expressed hope for continued cooperation with the international community in promoting peace.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine is open to discussions with South Korea on the possible transfer of two captured soldiers from the DPRK, given the threats to their lives in case of repatriation.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to hand over its soldiers to DPRK dictator Kim Jong-un if he can organize an exchange for our soldiers held captive in Russia.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Defense Forces had captured two DPRK soldiers. They are already communicating with the SSU.
Later, the SSU reported that they were conducting investigative actions with the DPRK prisoners.
It was also reported that operators of the tactical group No. 84 of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured a North Korean soldier during special operations in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
