Trump wants to recognise Crimea as Russian territory to end war - Semafor

The administration of US President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of officially recognising Crimea as part of Russia as part of an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.
According to Censor.NET, Semafor writes about this with reference to two informed sources.
According to them, the White House is also discussing a possible US appeal to the UN with a proposal to recognise Crimea as Russian territory at the international level.
It is also known that the American leader has not yet made a final decision on this and is considering other options that could be included in the terms of the peace agreement.
By the way, Trump is "determined" to conclude a peace agreement to end the Russian-Ukrainian war. This was stated by White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt.
"We are in the home stretch of making peace, and we have never been closer to a peace agreement than we are now," she says.
As a reminder, Trump said he would have a conversation with Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin on the morning of 18 March.
