Trump and Putin may agree to divide Europe, - head of Bundestag defense committee

Trump and Putin’s talks

The head of the Bundestag Defense Committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, believes that the conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will not only concern the "division of Ukraine" but will also have wider implications for Europe.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to UNIAN.

Strack-Zimmermann said: "What is happening now is really scary. And given how unpredictable the American president is, we cannot know what will happen next."

In addition, she noted that Ukraine is "trembling" for good reason. According to her, Europe should be really vigilant, because there are two people sitting at the table who may be planning to divide the whole of Europe. Struck-Zimmermann fears that the first step in this process will be the "victimization" of Ukraine.

"Putin is showing the world that he is ready to negotiate, and Trump is trying to show that he understands Putin and Russia. And the biggest tragedy is that Putin is far superior to Trump. Because Putin knows exactly what he wants: he wants the east of Ukraine, he wants to keep Crimea for good. These are his maximalist demands," she emphasized.
