Witkoff: "I tend to believe that Putin is acting in good faith"

Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff said he believes dictator Putin's promises to "act in good faith."
According to Censor.NET, citing the European Parliament, he said this on Bloomberg TV.
He was asked to comment on Ukraine's claims that Russia had attacked its energy infrastructure even after Putin 's promise not to attack it.
Vitkoff said he "has reliable information from a phone conversation" he had earlier on Wednesday that Putin "within ten minutes of speaking with the president (Trump - Ed.) ordered that Russian troops not attack the infrastructure."
"So the attacks that took place last night would have taken place before this order was made," he said.
In addition, according to the special envoy, the Russian side told him how it had shot down seven of its own drones that had been launched into Ukraine.
"I tend to believe that Putin is acting in good faith," he added.
No more strikes on the energy sector
Earlier it was reported that Trump and Putin agreed that the movement towards peace would begin with a ceasefire on energy and infrastructure.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that after a telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, the military allegedly received an order from Putin to stop strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
