Lithuania is preparing for Russian attack on NATO countries by 2030 - Nauseda

Russia may write to NATO countries. Lithuania is already preparing

Lithuania is preparing for a possible Russian offensive against NATO countries by 2030. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said that his country is working to be able to repel aggression.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

Before the start of the European Council meeting, Nauseda noted that in the medium term, European countries should use this precious time that Ukraine is buying for us to strengthen our military capabilities."

"I welcome the proposal of the European Commission to rearm Europe, we must rearm ourselves, otherwise we will become the second next victim of Russian aggression," he emphasized.

According to the Lithuanian President, "just like 87 years ago, before the Second World War, we are facing a strategic choice: to allow the aggressor to escalate violence and fear, or to stop it, paralyze its ability to intimidate us and build a reliable wall of defense separating Europe and the Russian Federation."

Nauseda agreed with the assessment that Russia could attack European countries by 2030.

"This is exactly the basic assumption we made in Lithuania because we have a very ambitious goal to create a national unit, to fully equip it to create all the necessary infrastructure by 2030. So, according to our calculations, if the scenario is like this, we have about 4-5 years left. If sanctions are lifted, we have even less time to prepare for the next stage of aggression. So, the situation is serious, but I think we have all the means to cope, make decisions, and prepare for the next stage of aggression," he elaborated.

To recap, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh said that the threat of a Russian attack on Poland cannot be ruled out.
