There have been 70 clashes on front, fighting continues in six directions. High enemy activity remains in Pokrovsk direction - General Staff
Since the beginning of the day, 70 combat engagements have taken place in the frontline. The enemy is attacking most actively in the Pokrovsk sector and in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation at the front as of 16 hours on March 22, Censor.NET reports.
Shelling of Ukraine
The enemy from the territory of the Russian Federation fired artillery shells at the areas of Bratenytsia, Oleksandrivka, Mykhailivske, Kucherivka, Slavhorod, Doroshivka in the Sumy region; Khrinivka in the Chernihiv region; and Luhivka in the Kharkiv region. The towns of Krasnopillia, Turia, Uhrody, Mykhailivka, and Petrushivka in the Sumy region were hit by air strikes with guided bombs.
Fighting in the East
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces once near Vovchansk, the battle continued.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy tried to advance to our positions near Zahryzove once during the day. Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled the attack.
In the Lyman sector, 13 firefights took place in the areas of Nadiya, Dibrova, Kolodyazi, Torske, and in the direction of Novyi, Novomykhailivka. Five firefights are still ongoing.
In the Siversky sector, our defenders repelled one enemy attack near Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy did not conduct any active offensives.
In the Toretsk sector, militants attacked 13 times in the areas of Diliiivka and Toretsk. Four combat engagements are still ongoing.
The enemy is still highly active in the Pokrovsk sector. Eighteen times during the day the enemy tried to advance to our positions near Panteleymonivka, Kalynove, Vodiane Druhe, Yelizavetivka, Novoukrainka, Kotlyne, Uspenivka, Kotliarivka, Andriivka, Novoandriivka and in the direction of Pokrovsk. Four firefights are still ongoing. The enemy also carried out air strikes in the areas of Pokrovsk, Serhiivka, and Yelizavetivka.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the aggressor attacked six times near Kostiantynopole. All attacks were repelled.
The situation in the South and North
In the Huliaipillia sector, the enemy did not conduct any active offensive but conducted air strikes with NARs on the settlements of Novodarivka, Malynivka, and Zaliznychne.
In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy conducted one unsuccessful offensive in the direction of Shcherbaky.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy launched an air strike with NARs in the vicinity of Olhivka but did not conduct any offensive actions.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders are repelling two invaders' attacks, with a total of 16 clashes recorded so far. The enemy conducted 11 air strikes, dropping 16 guided bombs on settlements and positions of the Defense Forces. In addition, it carried out 183 artillery attacks, including six from multiple launch rocket systems.
