Russians attacked Kharkiv with Shahed drones: 12 people injured, houses and civilian infrastructure facility damaged (updated). VIDEO&PHOTOS

On the evening of March 26, explosions occurred in Kharkiv. The city was attacked by Russian strike drones.

This was reported in a telegram by the mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov, Censor.NET reports.

"An explosion was heard in Kharkiv. Be careful," Terekhov said at 8:41 pm.

"The hit is preliminary in the Kyivskyi district. There are still enemy drones in the sky over the city. Be careful," he said at 8:42 pm.

"There was another explosion in the city, first in the city center. Several more Shaheds are heading to Kharkiv," it was reported at 8:45 pm.

Later, Terekhov reported a series of explosions in the city. "Shaheds" were also spotted over Kharkiv.

"The last strike, preliminarily, took place near a multi-storey residential building. Information about the victims and damage is being clarified," Terekhov said at 9:05 p.m.

"Multi-storey residential buildings were damaged, according to preliminary information, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged, no information on injured and dead has been received at this time," he said at 9:10 p.m.

At 9:10 p.m., the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that a 12-year-old girl had been injured in the attack on the city.

"A 12-year-old girl was injured as a result of an enemy attack on Kharkiv. She has been hospitalised. We ask Kharkiv residents not to ignore the air raid sirens. There is a threat of repeated attacks," the official wrote.

The head of the RMA, Synehubov, said that as of 9:26 p.m., at least 15 explosions had occurred in the city.

Later, the mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov, said that the number of victims of the Russian attack on Kharkiv had increased

"Eight people have been injured so far after the massive shelling of Kharkiv," he said.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal posted a video of the aftermath of the strikes.

"Russia attacked Kharkiv with strike drones. Multi-storey residential buildings and civilian infrastructure have been damaged. Rescuers and medics are working at the scene. All victims are being provided with assistance. We are continuing to eliminate the consequences of the attack," the Prime Minister said.

He added that Russia does not seek peace, but continues to wage terror against Ukraine, striking at peaceful cities.

"Together with our partners, we must achieve a just peace and punish the aggressor," he wrote.

As of 11:47 p.m, the State Emergency Service reports 9 injured as a result of the Russian attack on Kharkiv.

"In the evening of 26 March, the enemy launched a massive shelling with attack drones on civilian infrastructure and the residential sector of Kharkiv. There were 4 fires, destruction and damage to buildings. The largest fire with an area of 2500 square metres occurred in a production building," the rescuers say.

As of 8:40 a.m. on 27 March, 12 people were reported injured.
