Security measures have been stepped up in Mykolaiv region: possible threats of terrorist attacks

Security is being strengthened in Mykolaiv region

Law enforcement officers in Mykolaiv region have stepped up control at checkpoints, in public places and during mass events. They are also checking vehicles, patrolling areas to identify suspicious persons and objects near police stations, as well as additional stages of inspection.

According to Censor.NET, this was reported by the police of Mykolaiv region.

In particular, it is noted that such measures are aimed at reducing the risk of terrorist attacks and at promptly identifying potential threats and responding quickly.

"As of today (27 March - ed.), the number of police units on the streets of the region's settlements has been increased, and they are monitoring security around the clock.

Additional foot and mobile patrols have been set up to respond quickly to any suspicious situations, and checkpoint control has been strengthened in the area of vehicle activity to check vehicles for dangerous items and suspicious persons," the statement said.

Units equipped with modern equipment for detecting explosives and conducting detailed inspections in crowded areas have also been formed. Monitoring is carried out using video surveillance systems, metal detectors and explosive detectors at the entrances to important facilities.

The police also added that they will use analytical systems to collect and analyse data on potential threats, including information from open sources and signals from citizens, which allows them to identify suspicious persons or unusual actions in advance.

On the morning of 27 March, the National Security and Defence Council's Disinformation Countermeasures Centre reported that Russians were likely to prepare a provocation in Mykolaiv. In particular, Russian propaganda is spreading a fake about the Ukrainian military allegedly preparing a provocation in Mykolaiv to disrupt agreements to stop strikes on energy facilities.

"The propagandists claim that special groups have been set up in the city to prepare the operation and are bringing in a large number of wreckage of Russian Shahed drones and explosives," the statement said.

The CCD emphasises that such reports may indicate that Russia is preparing a provocation and strikes on the city. This is a classic example of the enemy using information alibi tactics to justify its actions. Ru-propaganda preemptively accuses Ukraine of actions that will be taken by Russia itself.
