Number of assaults in Zaporizhzhia direction increased – Southern Defense Forces
The number of enemy attacks in the Zaporizhzhia direction has increased in recent days.
This was announced by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces Vladyslav Voloshyn, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
The enemy has amassed certain forces and resources to carry out assault operations, and the number of assaults has now increased. For instance, there were 16 assaults in the Huliaypole direction over the past 24 hours. The enemy attempted to seize our positions near Rivnopil, Novopil, and Novosilka," he noted.
9 assaults were recorded in the Orikhiv direction near the localities of Mali Shcherbaki, Stepove, Lobkove and Scherbaky. The enemy conducted air strikes on Ukrainian positions near Kamianske, Komyshuvakha and Novoandriivka.
Voloshyn noted that a few days ago there was a small lull when the enemy tried to regroup forces and equipment, but it did not involve the use of air strikes and MLRS.
The spokesman also informed that according to intelligence, the enemy is amassing personnel for further assault operations in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv directions, where it is moving personnel to the frontline.
"The enemy is not abandoning the tactics of assault operations with small groups of infantry. To this end, he has accumulated and trained a significant number of these assault groups over a period of time. Small infantry groups are a creeping offensive, when the enemy, despite losses, tries to capture trench after trench. This tactic brings him certain successes and he does not abandon it, despite the enormous losses," Voloshyn explained.
