Trump wants to impose tariffs on all countries

US President Donald Trump has said that the reciprocal duties he is going to announce this week will apply to all countries, not just the group of 10-15 countries with the largest trade imbalance.

This was reported by Censor.NET with reference to Reuters.

The US leader promised to unveil a large-scale tariff plan on Wednesday, he called it "Liberation Day". He has already imposed duties on aluminium, steel and cars, as well as increased duties on all goods from China.

"Trump sees tariffs as a way of protecting the domestic economy from unfair global competition and a bargaining chip for better terms for the U.S.," the publication writes.

As a reminder, on 4 March, US President Donald Trump's new 25% duty on imports from Mexico and Canada, as well as a doubling of duties on Chinese goods to 20%, came into effect
