Ukraine's membership in the European Union is within reach. The country can join the bloc by January 1, 2030.

This was stated by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys at the conference "Ukraine's Accession to the EU: the choice has been made, it's a matter of time," Censor.NET reports citing RBC-Ukraine.

"We believe that this (Ukraine's membership in the EU - ed.) is quite achievable. And the very specific date mentioned by my president is not just an idea. We believe that we can make sure that Ukraine becomes an EU member on January 1, 2030," Budrys said.

At the same time, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister noted that to achieve this goal, Ukraine has to do "a huge amount of work."

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine wants to make progress in accession talks with the EU this year.
