All residents have been evacuated from 48 settlements in Sumy region – Regional Military Administration

47,500 residents evacuated from the border areas of the Sumy region, including 48 settlements in four districts now completely depopulated.

According to Oleksandr Milash, Director of the Department for Civil Protection, a total of 47,500 residents have been evacuated from the border areas of the Sumy region, including 7,635 children.
"Over the past week, 737 people have been evacuated, including 7 children. Most evacuees came from Krasnopillia — nearly 4,000 people have been evacuated from there over the past two weeks. A great deal of work has been done, and we thank everyone who contributed to this effort," he said.
It is reported that as of today, 48 settlements in Konotop, Sumy, Okhtyrka and Shostka districts are completely depopulated.
"In March, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration added 12 settlements in the Sumy district to the list of those to be evacuated.
So far, 396 people have been displaced, including 41 children. The evacuation is ongoing," the military administration added.
