A terrorist attack was prevented in the city of Kamianske in the Dnipropetrovsk region. An agent of the Russian special services was detained.
This was reported by the press service of the SSU, Censor.NET reports.
The woman, on the instructions of her handler, prepared an improvised explosive device to be detonated in the community.
"The offender thought that after making the IED, she would pass the disguised explosive to another person or hide it in a cache. But in fact, the aggressor's plan was to bring his agent to a crowded place in the district centre during rush hour and blow her up together with the IED.
In this way, the racists hoped to kill as many people as possible and thereby cause panic among the residents of the frontline region," the statement said.
SBU CI officers exposed the enemy's intentions in time and detained the agent when she was synthesizing explosives for an IED.
Who was detained?
The detainee is a 22-year-old drug addict from Bakhmut who, before the occupation, moved first to the Kharkiv region and then to the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Later, she began to look for "quick money" on Telegram channels, where she was recruited by the Russian special services. After completing a "test" task - setting fire to a relay cabinet - he instructed the girl to prepare a bloody terrorist attack.
"For conspiracy purposes, the suspect changed her place of residence and moved to a rented apartment, which she paid for from her handler's crypto wallet. On the instructions of the occupiers, the agent purchased a thermos in which she was to put an explosive and "reinforce" it with nails.
During the searches in the detainee's apartment, SBU officers found components for making IEDs and a mobile phone with evidence of work for Russia," the SBU added.
She has now been served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 Article 14, Part 2 Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (preparation to commit a terrorist act). The woman is in custody. She faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
