81 combat engagements took place in frontline, 28 of them in Lyman direction – General Staff
The aggressor continues to pursue its plans to occupy the territory of Ukraine and continues to put pressure on the positions of Ukrainian troops. In total, 81 combat engagements have taken place at the front since the beginning of the day.
This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation at the front as of 16 hours on April 4, Censor.NET reports.
Russian attacks on the territory of Ukraine
As a result of cynical shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation, border settlements suffered, in particular: Semenivka, Seredyna-Buda, Khutir Mykhailivskyi, Kucherivka, Prokhody, Novovasylivka, Maryne, Ulanove in the Sumy region; Yasna Poliana, Khrinivka in the Chernihiv region; and Tymofiivka in the Kharkiv region. Krasnopillia, Prokhody, Stepok, Uhroidy and Lisne in the Sumy region were hit by air strikes.
Hostilities in the Kharkiv region
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy twice tried to advance in the areas of Vovchansk and towards Kamianka.
Defense forces successfully halted two enemy attempts to advance in the Kupiansk direction near Zahryzove.
Hostilities in the East
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 28 times in the direction of Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka, Hrekivka, Olhivka, Novoserhiivka, Nove and near Nadiia. Fighting is currently underway in 14 locations.
In the Siversk direction, two combat engagements took place near Bilohorivka and in the direction of Verkhnokamianske since the beginning of the day, and one combat engagement is currently underway.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked in the areas of Krymske, Dachne, Toretsk, Leonidivka and in the direction of Dyliivka, making 13 attempts to improve their position. Three combat engagements are ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupants have made 13 attempts to force our defenders from their positions near Andriivka, Sukha Balka and Yelyzavetivka. The defense forces are holding back the enemy's offensive and repelled ten enemy attacks. The enemy launched air strikes with guided bombs in the areas of Pokrovsk and Sukhyi Yar.
Today in the Novopavlivka direction, enemy units attacked the positions of our troops five times near Kostiantynopil and Rozlyv, and also launched air strikes near Bahatyr. Four attacks are still ongoing.
The situation in the South
Today, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders once near Novosilka in the Huliaipole direction. At the same time, they carried out air strikes on Novopil, Huliaipole and Novodarivka.
Four combat engagements took place in the Orikhiv direction. The enemy is trying to advance near Mali Shcherbaky and Stepove, two battles are still ongoing.
The situation in the Kursk region
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven attacks by the invaders. The enemy also carried out three air strikes, dropping five guided bombs, and made 211 artillery attacks. The fighting is currently ongoing in two locations.
The General Staff added that the enemy did not conduct active offensive actions in the Prydniprovske and Kramatorsk directions, but is shelling the positions of the Defense Forces and settlements, using attack UAVs and conducting reconnaissance.
