Ukraine has nationalized assets of oligarch Deripaska worth over UAH 2 billion – SSU

Oleg Deripaska

Security Service of Ukraine reported that based on the materials it collected, the High Anti-Corruption Court decided to nationalize the assets of Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, who is under sanctions.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, Censor.NET reports .

We are talking about more than 550 thousand tons of bauxite and alumina stored at the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, an enterprise previously owned by Deripaska.

As noted, the value of the seized resources exceeds UAH 2 billion. These raw materials were used at Russian aluminum plants to manufacture components for ballistic missiles, combat drones and radar systems.

The investigation found that the products belonged to the oligarch through a company he controlled registered in an EU country. This structure acted as a formal customer of Ukrainian products for further re-export to Russia.

In early 2023, law enforcement officers blocked an attempt to export this raw material. In January 2025, the SSU completed a pre-trial investigation and submitted an indictment against Deripaska, who is suspected of financing Russia's armed aggression in absentia.
