President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 11 companies in Ukraine are already producing fibre-optic drones.
According to Censor.NET, the head of state said this in a video address.
"I held a meeting of Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief today. The main thing is reports on the production of drones in Ukraine; we are increasing it as much as possible. We are increasing the entire line of drones: from Mavic to long-range drones, and we are also increasing our Ukrainian capabilities for the production of ground robotic systems. In fact, we need a constant, steady increase in production and supply of all the necessary parts of the unmanned component to the troops, and we have good prospects for the current year.
We are working separately on fibre-optic drones: since the beginning of this year alone, more than 20 new certified models of drones with fibre-optic control systems have been produced. Already 11 of our enterprises in Ukraine have mastered the production of such drones, and the task is to achieve the largest possible production and supply scale. Today I have instructed to sign contracts to the maximum extent possible.
There is also a positive trend in diplomatic missions: I cannot give specific figures, but this year we will provide the necessary volume for our Defence Forces. I want to thank all our companies that are involved, as well as all our soldiers, all the specialists - everyone who develops the unmanned component for our army, for all our forces," Zelenskyy said.
