prison colony

In occupied Donetsk, the so-called "Supreme Court of the DPR" sentenced a 17-year-old resident of Dokuchaievsk to 6 years and 6 months in prison for "high treason."

As reported by Censor.NET, the story was published by Mediazona.

What is the teenager accused of?

According to the prosecution, from October 2023 to March 2024, the minor "carried out tasks for the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU)."

Allegedly, he used his mobile phone to send the SSU information on the location of Russian troops. The trial was held behind closed doors.

The Russian court's press service only released the first letter of the convict’s surname — "Ch." He will serve his sentence in a juvenile correctional facility.

Under the Russian Penal Enforcement Code, juvenile facilities house convicted minors and individuals who remain there until they turn 19. After that, they are transferred to adult prisons.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Security Service earlier reported that one in five individuals (22%) recruited by Russian intelligence for missions in Ukraine are minors. They are often used to prepare acts of sabotage or terrorism.
