Among other things, the document contains provisions in the event of military aggression by a third state against one of the countries. In this case, the other country undertakes not to provide military or other assistance to the aggressor.
In addition, the agreement provides for "interaction within the framework of separate agreements" between the intelligence and security services of Russia and Iran. The parties also reaffirm their commitment to the development of military-technical cooperation, taking into account mutual interests and international obligations, and consider it "an important component of maintaining regional and global security."
The treaty provides for close cooperation "on arms control, disarmament, non-proliferation and international security within the framework of relevant international treaties and international organizations."
The document also states that the parties "contribute to the strengthening of peace and security in the Caspian region, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Middle East, cooperate to prevent interference in these regions and the destabilizing presence of third states there, and exchange views on the situation in other regions of the world."
At the same time, the agreement emphasizes trade and economic cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. Among other things, the agreement provides for the creation of a "modern payment infrastructure independent of third countries," the transition to bilateral settlements in national currencies, the strengthening of direct interbank cooperation, and the spread of national financial products.
